We got our first shipment of ST Personal units in today. Everything looks good and we have just a few final checks to perform before releasing the product for sale. We should be able to post the order form by Monday, November 12. _________________ Thanks,

We have been told by our distributor that our first order of ST Personal units is scheduled to be delivered on November 5th. We will not be posting a "ship date" to our customers until we are sure that the units are in fact going to be delivered.
All the technical bugs have been resolved as far as we can tell. This is going to be a great device. _________________ Thanks,

The latest from the manufacturer is that they will be delivering our first order of ST Personal units before the end of October. We are not quite ready to take orders yet, but may be able to post an order date by the end of next week (October 12). _________________ Thanks,

As the old saying goes, I've got good news and bad news.
First, the good news. We have been able to get details on what the shipping delay is from the ST Personal manufacturer. They have confirmed that they were seeing a number of units with weak GPS satellite reception, and they had to do a complete redesign of the circuit board to fix the problem. They are running a pilot manufacturing run early next week, and should have test results shortly thereafter. They believe that they have fixed the problem and they expect the results will allow them to go forward with full production.
The bad news is that everything is taking longer than expected. If everything goes smoothly with the evaluation, they expect to begin their production run in about two weeks, which means we should have units about two weeks after that. The bottom line is that the best case scenario for delivery is now mid-October.
We will know a lot more at the end of September when the results from the pilot run are in. We will have another update and a new ship date target at that time. _________________ Thanks,

We just got word from the manufacturer that they are delaying the shipment by 30 days. No explanation was given beyond generic order backlog issues, even though we had been reassured as late as last week that everything was fine and our first shipment would arrive by August 31.
We still like this device and still plan to carry it when it is released, but the inability of the manufacturer to deliver on time is a setback. We will be getting a limited number of units in for evaluation and demo, but beyond that we will probably not be able to ship devices to our customers before October.
Sorry folks. _________________ Thanks,

It looks like the ST Personal is going to be ready to ship on time. As of August 24, our supplier is telling us that the units will be delivered to our office no later than August 31.
All of the intergration and development work is done. As soon as they come in, they should be ready to go out. _________________ Thanks,
